Niels Hoffmann specialises in commercial criminal law, consulting and representing enterprises in the area of criminal violation of competition law, copyright/patent infringements as well as internet and computer crimes.
Niels Hoffmann studied law at the University of Konstanz. He started working as a lawyer in 1996 at Widmaier & Rosenthal in Karlsruhe, a law firm specialising on criminal appeals on questions of law. In the middle of 1998 he joined Wessing II ∙ Verjans in Düsseldorf from which, in 2006, the law firm VBB Rechtsanwälte emerged. 2010 Niels Hoffmann became partner of the law firm DIERLAMM Rechtsanwälte.
Niels Hoffmann contributes to the criminal law magazine StRR and acts as a lecturer at the DeutscheAnwaltAkademie and at the state office for the training and further development of the police in North Rhine-Westphalia. He is a member of the Criminal Law Section of the German Bar Association, the Association of German Defence Lawyers, the German-British Lawyers Association, the German Association for Industrial Property Rights and Copyright (GRUR), the Competence Center for Applied Security Technology e.V. (CAST) as well as of the Association of Commercial Criminal Defence Lawyers (WisteV).
